I've not watched this far in Star Wars Rebels and now I am concern on many different levels.

That helicopter thing was kind of dumb. Then again, this is the same franchise with force sensitive tree people, weird bouncy things that are also telepathic and psychic crystal spider things that believe force is a giant spider web and no I'm not making that up.

I mean, to defend the last part. The force kind of IS a web. It Connects us, Binds us, Penetrates us, and connects all life together. Those who are strong enough can send ripples through out it, others feeling these ripples, these movements in the 'web'.
So, I can sort of justify the 'Force being a web' idea.

Yeah, and people think the EU is so GREAT. Isn't that right younger clones that Sidious transplanted his consciousness into making Vader's sacrifice and return to the life pointless? Or what about Bouncers which are essentially green fuzzy plush toys that use the force? Or Luuke Skywalker the evil cone of Luke Skywalker? Or Skippy the Jedi droid? Or the numerous comics with crappy artwork where everyone acts uncharacteristically douchey and Anakin looks like he wants to kill everyone in the room half the time? Or Cade skywalker, the douchebag descendent of Luke Skywalker that makes me want to kick small animals every time he talks? Or The Crystal star novel? This novel is just so weird that I can't explain it in one sentence so I'm leaving a link for people to go and watch a video about it.

And with every stupid or poorly handled Idea in the EU, there are MANY great ideas that take it's place. Here are some ranging from the Old Republic Era and getting closer to the OT.
1.) The legend of the first Sith Lords, Ajunta Paul, Marka Ragnos, Naga Sadow, and Tulak Horde.
2.) The legend of the first great Schism
3.) The entirety of the Mandalorian Wars!
4.) The rise of Revan and Malak
5.) Revan's redemption and the death of Malak at the Star Forge
6.) The story of Meetra Surick, the Jedi Exile who fought Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus
7.) The story of the Brotherhood of Evil, and ho the Sith once ruled by numbers.
8.) The fall of the Brotherhood, and the Rise of Darth Bane.
9.) Darth Bane establishing the Rule of Two, setting in model for all Sith to come for over 1000 years!
And those were just SOME of the BEST and most well beloved stories in the Old Republic Era! We still have The Force Unleashed and Republic Commando to talk about! As well as the event AFTER ROTJ, such as the Luke becoming the Grandmaster of the New Jedi Order and training people such as Kyle Katarn and having to deal with the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion!
But, you know, Go ahead and cling to the idea that all of the EU is stupid. The EU may have had some stupid moments and ideas in it... but even at it's WORST, it's still a million times better than the new 'Disney Star Wars'.

I never said the EU was stupid. I'm just saying that a lot of people seem to ignore there was as much bad as there was good. It happens in a lot of long running franchises. There's all kinds of weird shit from the Silver age of comics like Superman shooting rainbows or Bat baby. Every now and then you get something stupid and I just don't like it when people seem to ignore the fact there was bad stuff in Star wars and just "Ugh, Disney ruined Star wars. MYEH." I don't like that argument very much because from what I've seen Disney is handling the franchise pretty well. They are even adding an entire wing of Disneyland that is centered around Star wars and looks like something ripped straight from the movies. The comics are great, the cartoons are great and the movies are good. They do have some moments but even the original series had some problems like the Return of the Jedi's opening dragged out a bit and that Luke and Leia kissing scene.

1.) There was FAR more good than bad in the EU, hell, there still is.
2.) People seem to 'ignore it' because for a lot of this stuff, you really have to go and DIG for the crap in the EU, it's not like it's the Silver Age and the bizarre stuff was EVERYWHERE, in the EU you really have to dig to find some of the crap alongside a LOT of gold.
3.) People do not ignore the flaws in Lucas's Star Wars, hell have you heard anyone talk about the prequels EVER? people tore those movies apart when the first came out, and while people did critique the OT, it was genuinely agreed upon that they were solid movies, flaws and all.
4.) What the FUCK made you think Disney is handling Star Wars well?! o.O From recycling the plots of the past movies, making your main character a Mary Sue that just so happens to be good at everything and never has and kind of challenge to overcome, to the Killing and BUTCHERING of the OT characters to the point that Mark Hamill was pissed of and fucking CARRIE FISHER (God rest her soul) Called Rian Johnson 'Such an Asshole' in interviews, To forcing self insert characters like Rose into the move alongside Anti-Capitalist Propaganda (Coming from the company that spent several BILLION dollars to buy the franchise, just to use it to push a message of 'Capitalism is bad and rich people are assholes, Isn't that ironic?), to the MASSIVE GAPING PLOT-HOLES that are SO NUMEROUS that MauLer made a series that is SEVERAL HOURS LONG picking apart the entire move...
And that is without mentioning that Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, and JJ Abrams have been straight up INSULTING the fan-base that they are selling this garbage too, calling them misogynistic, Sexist, Racist, 'Man-babies', and many other buzzwords all because these people asked very basic questions about one of the many flaws in the movie. One of my favorite quotes being "If you dislike Rey or think she is a poorly written, then you are just scared of strong female characters." YES, THAT IS A REALLY QUOTE, THEY REALLY FUCKING SAID THAT.
and 5.) As for the Luke and Leia kiss in Empire Strikes Back, that was just poor Hindsight in the long run, remember, Lucas was writing these movies as they were being made, he had never planned for Star Wars to become a trilogy, let alone a MASSIVE Franchise. The first mention we get of them being related was in ROTJ, so it was clear that it was (most likely) a decision made afterwards to give Luke and Leia a stronger bond as family. Besides, it's not like they had sex, and neither one of them knew that they were related at the time. It's just a lack of Hindsight in the long run, seeing how Luke and Leia were not planned to be siblings until AFTER Empire.
