Description

In the far future... a group of colonists from [REDACTED], settled on the Jovian moon, Europa. By the time of the Great Exodus, these colonists had fully adapted themselves (through genetic alteration and cybernetic aditions) to semi-aquatic life.

The ships that the Europans added to the vast armada contained vast oceans within them, at their very cores, around their power sources were beautiful cities of coral, hosting all the life that they had nurtured during their time in the Sol System.

Aside from developing technologies that function incredibly reliably underwater (and at great pressures), the Europans also specialise in very specific kinds of mercenary work: underwater (and high pressure) operations. These operatives are highly trained and almost always have modified themselves to fulfill their callings better. They often have gills (either organic or cybernetic) as well as underwater propulsion systems incorporated into their legs, often going so far as to replace their legs with elegant fins and tails, often these cybernetic fins are able to transform into functional legs as well. It is because of the prevalence of these fin like appendages present in most examples of the Europan people that outsiders see that the europans have come to be known as mermaids...
