Aldor was born in TA 2544 as the second son of Brego; he was the younger brother of Baldor and the older brother of Eofor. When Baldor vanished in TA 2569, Aldor became heir to the throne. One year later, he succeeded his father as Rohan's third king. He reigned for seventy-five years, the longest of any ruler of Rohan, and became known as Aldor the Old. During his reign, the population of the Rohirrim increased. The remaining Dunlendings east of the Isen River were either driven out or subdued, and Harrowdale and other valleys in the Ered Nimrais were settled. Aldor had three daughters and one son.
