So I plan on giving this piece of work a nice foliage-filled background later....but that's for later. :I

This is a dragon design for for their 'create a unique original dragon' contest.

I love pangolins so much, and I thought a dragon version would be interesting! if you compare actual pangolin anatomy to this creature, you'll see HUGE differences. Pangolin dragons have longer necks and legs, pointed bat-like ears, whiskers, and some of the scales on their back are raised into dragon-like spines. (not to mention the rows of horns and wings). When i create original dragons, I usually don't go mashing animals together, I just take an animal design and warp it and shift it and mash it until it only vaguely resembles it's animal counterpart, while adding LOTS of draconic 'accessories'.

SOME INFO:

Pangolin dragons are a tree-dwelling species that inhabit the rainforests of China and India.

These small creatures are incapable of flight, but their oddly-shaped wings are adeptly used for gliding from and clinging to the sides of trees.

Pangolin dragons are incapable of breathing fire, but instead huff a paralysis-inducing smoke, which they blow into the nests of ants--their main food source.

the small teeth that hang out of the dragons mouth are solely for scraping away bark when their claws can't and self defense if need be.

clumsy on the ground, pangolin dragons spend most of their lives in the trees, and are rarely seen.

SCALES ARE FUN *cough cough* FUCKING HARD TO DRAW.

But i'm seriously proud of this! I put a lot of work into this, (check out those scales people, check out how i colored them. look at that fuckin fur~~~) *brag brag brag brag
