Marth known in Japan as (マルス,Marusu) is a character who orginates in the original game, Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi, its remake Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, and the third game, Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo. In Tales of The Subspace he is the second male lead protagionist along side with Sonic. He is the prince of the noble kingdom of Altea and the seventh successful Chosen One, being destined to restore the world by ascending the fortress of fate as a spirit, there by saving his world, Mobious. Although clumsy, Marth is a kind, selfless teenage boy who always puts others before himself.
Personality
Throughout the series,Marth's personality is very similar to Colette Brunel where he is shown to be fairly clumsy, at one point even receiving a title called "Mr. Clumsy", and his repetitive tripping causes the most unusual things to happen, from making a hole in the wall at his own castle to crashing into things and deactivating the most complex of machines. This causes Mario to claim that his clumsiness is truly gifted. He can also appear somewhat absent minded, as he misses some things that are obvious to everyone else, as telling an assassin who is after to kill the Chosen that he is the Chosen, and worrying for him afterward when he falls down a hole. As the Chosen of Mobious, he wishes for the world's safety every night. he is quick to take responsibility, and puts everybody above himself. he is brave and quick to do what he believes is right, but he is not very self-confident, and can be slow to decide what the right action is, most of the time asking Sonic to decide in his stead. Marth is also very self-conscious and wishes he were not different, because he is different that he never was able to live like a normal person. This is one of the clear differences between him and Peach,the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and the Chosen of Delfino, as Marth accepts the differences, even if he does not like them, while Peach tries to find a way to get rid of them. As the series continues, Marth begins to show more of the negative aspects of his selflessness. Because he does not want people to worry or keep their minds from their goal, he hides all his suffering and burden, bearing them all alone. This, however, also works against him, since he tries to hide illnesses like Spirit Toxicosis and Shadow bug paratism from the others, forcing them to discover them on their own. This factor annoys Sonic the most, because he feels that he cannot help him, but from Marth's perspective,he feels that worrying anyone or showing something odd is just not appropriate for the journey he has begun.Marth is a very mature young man. he was brought up with the knowledge that he would need to die to save the world, and has gained from that a truly selfless nature. However, he later recognizes that he made a mistake in his willingness to sacrifice herself, believing in Sonic's ideas that no life is born for the sole purpose of dying. As such, his greatest wish at the end of the series is to ensure that no one else makes the same mistake he did.

Birth of the Chosen
Marth is a royal prince who is the descendant of the great hero Arni was born and raised in Altea , a beautiful large kingdom in the north-western part of Mobious. When he was born, there was a Shadow Sphere, an evolved kind of orb, in his hand, signifying her as the Chosen of Regeneration.His elder sister and his childhood friend, Princess Elice and Caeda princess of Talys, took care of him after his father King Cornllius was killed in the battlefield. At some point during the early years of his childhood, Marth was taught how to read spiritual language by his royal subjects. As he got older, he was introduced to the clergy, some of whom he would later meet during his Journey of World Regeneration. He also met the priests who were meant to accompany him on his journey. He then like every commoners started his formal education by his elder sister's request at the Altea schoolhouse, where he met Sonic The Hedgehog. He and the young Sonic soon became friends. Sometime later, Pit joined in their circle of friendship.
Journey of Regeneration
On the day of Marth's sixteenth birthday, the gods sends down an Oracle. Marth, accompanied by Sonic, Pit, and the beautiful mysterious warrior Zelda, after they defeat the Renegades-thought-prymids, enter the Apollo Shrine to meet the summons of the Sun God. At the highest level of the shrine, the Ancient minister arrives to convey the blessings of the gods and bestow the Fortress of Fate. Because of it's spiritual creations, it is believed to be Marth's "Real Ansestor", thought Marth does not feel like it is his ansestor, a fact he admits later on.The end of the Day of Prophesy marks the beginning of Marth's Journey of Regeneration, during which he must release the "Seals" that are scattered throughout the world. There are a total of five Seals, the fifth being at the Fortress of Fate, where the Journey will end, Marth will be sacrificed, and the dying will would be regenerated. He leaves the kingdom of Altea under the protection of Zelda and Fox , his teacher. As he is leaving, he acts, in Pit's words, "overly cheerful" in an attempt to hide the fact that the Journey of Regeneration will end with his death. Trying to cause his trusted friend Sonic the least amount of grief, he lies to him about the time of his departure, in the hope that he will then be able to live in the regenerated world. His bluff fails, however, and Sonic and Pit catch up with him later on.As the party moves from one Seal to the next, Marth begins to gain more spiritual powers, like the ability to fly, enhanced sight and improved hearing. However, he also loses the things that make him human, like the ability to taste food, sleep, and even speak. he hides this from the party for most of the time, but when he loses the ability to feel, he is forced by Sonic to tell him the truth, and Sonic eventually tells the rest of the group of it. Eventually, the party reaches the Fortress of Fate, where Marth is forced to make the final sacrifice: his heart and memory.
