I'm not sure I'll ever be able to color this, but the color scheme should be known to everyone. Black with purple lines. Yup yup.Now, I wasn't sure if I should have uploaded this, not when it's... incomplete. Yeah, lack of color... but for the life of me, I have no clue how to color. Checked a few tutorials, but I'm not sure I can understand them.
Ahem, anyway, yes, Black Fury in all their floating glory!
They are supposed to be charding a ball of dark energy of DOOM, but... oh well, that'll come when I'll color this. For now, enjoy the details.
Oh yes, the small back-view lets you see that "accursed scarf that just doesn't want to be deleted". Netto keeps them tied behind his back so they won't get in the way when he's fighting. Or just walking, for that matter.
His arm/leg guards were NOT easy to do, but they had a good rival in the hands, which I had a lot of troubles to draw right.
There might be mistakes, but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Yeah, the scarf is pretty long, and it would be longer if Netto doesn't tie it behind his neck (normally, it would hang on the front, but since it's in the way, and neither he nor Forte can get rid of the code for the thing, this is the only solution. lol)
You get errors too? I get many too, once or twice, dA just got stuck and I had to close it and reopen it. I get lots of "couldn't complete request at the time" when I delete deviations from my dAwatch...

LtS: This is a great picture (but I'm kind of afraid of reading the story). I'm kind of in a creating Megaman.EXE characters on SSMU bases. Is it okay that I can try to create this on the base?

LtS: It short for "Salor Senshi Make Up". SharmClaus (I think that's how its spelled) created the bases and allowed others to use them, as long as he gets credit. I'd give a link, but I'm too tired to look for him.

So, you want to create/draw this character using a "human-shaped base" you found on DA? Sure, go ahead. Just give credit where it is due (although Netto and Forte belongs to Capcom, I was the one to come up with the design of their cross fusion). And give me the link when you manage to upload it on DA^^
For uploading, be careful of what kind of file you're trying to upload. I think DA refuses certain type of file images.

Hnn. I'm glad I can see what this cross looks like now. I was curious to that throughout the first chapter (though you did explain it, somehow I thought there'd be more differences) If it's alright, would I be able to draw this cross for you at some point in time?

as for the differences, there aren't many because there will be an explanation later (still have to write it out, though. The fic hasn't progressed that far. Yet). Yes, things will be revealed.

Yes, the first version. And yes, haven't finished the story yet. I seems to be close to it, though. Well, close as in... oh, I don't know. A couple of arcs before the end. Thing is, I have no clue how many chapters those are. I'd say a dozen, but it's a very farfetched number. It could be longer^^'
Forte's helmet is very, very tricky. Oddly, I have an easier time drawing it than many other artists... Not that I drew it a lot...

heh, you sound a lot like my best friend, they're a writer too. they usually have the whole story planned out, then they forget where they were going, and they only know the end, but not how to get there. XD either that or they just wing it. lolz...

Yup. Evolving plots are the best in my opinion. You start with an idea, but then, as you think about it, it evolves into something better and more detailed.

Oh yes, about the scarf mistaken for tuft of hair. You probably saw SoulAura's pic, where Netto actually does have some hair coming out from the back of the helmet.
That's version 2 of the Cross Fusion. What you see here is version 1, which is the one present in the fic. Yeah, there is a reason for that.

I should have done his back too (cloakless), but the lines and the two... things? on Forte's back have remained the same, so you can check out the official artwork for reference.

As for the lines, I did them in Paint Tool Sai. There is this nice tool where you can draw vector lines (and change their thickness with another tool)

I blame my sickness for that. When I'm sick, I have the tendency to throw perfectionism out of the window^^'
Had some troubles with the face, but the more I tried to correct it, the more I screwed up, so I left it that way
And the Azie would like to color this, but she has no clue how to do that. I checked a few tutorials (did this in Paint Tool Sai, that's why the lines are so clean), but for the life of me, I didn't understand much. I mean, where the shadows and highlights would fall...

I think cell shading might work in this case. Soft BG painting would seem a bit clashing with the style, in my opinion (even though I often make the same mistake!

One thing that could help you is draw an arrow that represents a light ray and imagine how the shadows and highlights will look like in response to the light ray.
