Something I sketched ages ago, only recently coloured it. Came out alright, colouring is a bit messy.Related content

This one wasn't too hard. It can be a little tricky sometimes, if I'm trying to draw or colour something that I haven't before, but I enjoy the challenge of it. It's more time consuming than anything really.

Small spots like this I add on after I've coloured the fur. However if the spots are larger or if I'm colouring stripes then it becomes a lot harder because I have to tediously colour around them.

Nice, my scanner likes messing up good paper pictures. -_-;

I had trouble with that for a while, but after a long time, I altered the scanner settings so that it scanned in pictures at a higher resolution. I usually scan at 300dpi (dots per inch) It basically picks up a lot more detail and makes the saved image larger. Then when you shrink it down to size, it keeps the clean quality of the image. Although if you're resizing the image in MS Paint, then the quality will once again be reduced.

I know what you mean, I've gone through that and I still see so many great artists out there far better than I am. Though I think by uploading and getting feedback on art is also a great way to get better.

Yeah, I guess your right. I just see better artists than me and think if I upload a picture peoeple might think I'm not a good artist or something. Which I'm not very good, my little sister will be though, she's scribbles pictures everywhere. And they're pretty good for an 8-year-old.

It takes a lot of time and practice to get good at art. That's great about your sister. Encourage her to keep drawing!

I know, i used to think I was really good until i found DA. I wish Kay fewdewa would do a wolf drawing tutorial. I really like wolves but I'm not very good at them. Yeah, Isabelle draws her favourite thing in the world, pokemon. About 2 pictures a day,.

The thing I find with turotrials, is that they're teaching you how to draw wolves, but only in the style that that person draws them. The best way is to draw from life or from photos, it can be harder at first but you've got to learn to simplify the forms. You'll get there. 2 pics a day is more than I draw!

Good point. I'm not very good at simplify-ing stuff. Plus I don't have many photos, I'll have to find some. But I do really like Kay's style.

It can be tough to simplify, you just have to get used to it I guess. If you're stuck for photos, in the search bar of devA. you can search for any animal, say a wolf and stock photos of it. Stock photos are there to use as reference and things, but if you post the art on dA, you have to link back to the stock photo. So to search for that you'd type "wolf in: Stock Images" Should give you plenty of results
