I just realized I'd never uploaded this here. It's a little old now. Wow. But somehow it slipped right through the gaps and only ever made its rounds on Tumblr.I really love Portal and Portal 2. I really loved Wheatley in Portal 2 especially, definite favorite character. So much expression and neurotics for a little robot soccer ball. Back then, I read a Portal 2 fan fiction called Blue Sky that you all should probably check out if you're interested in a wonderfully written, hilarious, heart felt, and imaginative conclusion to the story of Portal 2. It's humanized Wheatley/Chell shipping fiction for sure, but it's really well done, really brought a great idea along with the idea of Wheatley's character being feasibly turned to a human avatar. Just clever and cute.

This great picture, which is one of my favorite depictions of Wheatley, prompted me to go find the story Blue Sky, which is currently the first story that made me believe in Chell/Wheatley.

I would always recommend the Portal games to anyone, but be warned - he's not actually designed like this in the game. In the game he's actually just a little robot shaped like a beach ball with a big blue robot eye. Super cute still, though, at least I think so. I was drawing a humanized version of him because...well, because.

Hehehe...a lot of people tend to just base the human look of him off of Stephen Merchant, who voiced the character. Did so brilliantly, in fact. But mine's not really different from that...tall, gangly dork with glasses. It suits him really well because of the actor, because he fits the assumption of what he looks like based on how he sounds. Still, I've seen people take other, more extreme approaches with him, like short and fat, or anything other than a blonde white bloke, and they're always pretty interesting interpretations as well. Fandoms are funny things.

I don't read a lot of fan fiction but this one really gripped me. I would just go through my whole day thinking about it until I could come home and keep reading it until I'd finished it.

Oh man, yeah! So freakin' funny, too, so many times while I was reading it that I just burst into crazed laughter, hard enough to dribble snot down my face and gasp for breath. So funny. Now I think I'm gonna go reread some of its highlights. Oh man. I haven't flipped through Blue Sky in a while now...! This should be a delight
