It’s been about one day since I broke it off with my best friend
My partner in crime
We were friends for almost 10 years
Almost a whole decade
I wish we didn’t have those problems
Those worldly problems
But that’s the thing with life
The older you get
The more complex everything gets
And I had way too many things going on
And I wish things didn’t end up this way
But I needed out
And I needed out fast
And, yes, of course I feel like the shitiest person
Probably because I am
But I can no longer work for two
I am not her mother
And if I can’t even survive on my own
Then how were we ever going to survive off one paycheck?
I don’t mean to try to be the good guy
I am not the good guy
I won’t ever be the good guy
And so I’ll just go along with life without making anymore friends.
