All leather brigandine with hardened thick leather plates on the inside.Historically metal was used for the plates so this is a variant design.

It is so nice to see someone who understands what real historical brigandine armor was and not that silly studded leather armor even though this is supposed to be fantasy. Great work!

Looks great man. This is the style I was thinking of for a single shoulder. Like a fencing sleeve. But any money spent on commisions is on hold until all the vet bills are paid. You know we'll make it happen eventually though.

Probably not. That would usually refer to leather with studs (like round metal spots) on it.

Yeah, but I had heard somewhere that the reason it had better defensive capabilities (see DnD, where normal leather armor is a +2, studded is a +3) and is less mobile, due to having hardened leather strips in layers underneath the top layer.
*shrug* I realize it's fantasy, but I was curious.

Wow...very beautiful work! Seriously, I've never seen anyone make leather armor that comes even close to yours. I've seen some good stuff, but it's very typical and not very unique. This, on the other hand, stands out (in a good way)!
