Full view recommended, of course. No idea who the girl is; found the reference pic on Google Images. Some say she looks like Katie Holmes. Could be. And yea, I got lazy by the time I got to her neck and shoulders.

I can only imagine how time consuming it must have been. The shading on the individual strands of hair is just incredible, especially when viewed enlarged.
Did you learn this technique for the hair yourself through trial and error?

Actually I'm still learning and I'm not sure if I can even get the same effect in the next vexel I do
But I did check out a few tutorials from some of the vexellers on DA. But eventually I had to find a method I was comfortable with and now working on perfecting it. Not sure how it will go though. Almost finished with my new vexel and will post it soon.

Hmm... well, basically it's like a vector except that it's made in a raster/bitmap image editor like Photoshop, so it can't be scaled. Check this out for more info [link]

Ah, I had thought the V in place of the P in pixel was for "vixen" or something of that nature, I didn't realize it was a V for vector in place of P for pixel. I guess I was making the concept out to be more complicated than it was, good to know!
