Obviously this isn't the best-quality image, but I just couldn't help being struck by the power of those shoots as they pushed back an inches-thick blanket of dead leaf litter. Plants are more pushy than I'd've thought. Or maybe it's spring.Related content

sure, you could have made it easy for them by removing these obstacles. but you knew you knew that to survive in this harsh world these youngsters needed the strength to push through. bravo to you
