I can answer that :3 The atom said it best that Wonder Womans ring was having a hard time maintaining control because which would later be revealed by carol was that the light of love was most powerful in her. The first time Barry was seen by a black lantern he registered hope, and he registered it countless times through out the series so far. The rings picked those who shined their respective light best. Superman didn't get picked because of two possible reasons.
1. The Black ring has completely supressed his psyche.
or
2. Because he registered to many fragments of the light instead of one solid light more powerfully than the others. The rings are picky you know lol.
