Description In late 7th century, allied army of China(Tang Dynasty) and South Korea(Silla Dynasty) defeated another alliance composed of Japan and Bakjae Dynasty(the other dynasty of ancient Korea destroyed by Silla). It was the first war involved China, Korea, and Japan at the same time. After this war, China(Tang) betrayed his comrade, S.Korea(Silla), and invaded his land, but soon gave it up and came back to his country.
On the other hand, in Northern Korean Peninsula, a nation called Balhae was founded as a descendant of Goguryeo, a dynasty which was also destroyed by Silla and Tang. After all those troubles, all of them were angry with one another.

China(Tang Dynasty), South Korea(Silla Dynasty), North Korea(Balhae Dynasty), and Japan(Nara era) from Axis Powers Hetalia (c) Himaruya Hidekaz

I found out about mizura after showing someone a doujin where Kiku has them ovo

I heard that Korean men wore braids prior to the 20th century?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

azure-meipo In reply to diggermutant [2011-12-02 15:57:52 +0000 UTC]

Yes, one braided hair had been young men's hair after Mongolia's invasion to Korea(about 1258). It had been young women's hair from ancient time, but it became the majority after the invasion. It was not for married people, and used until 20th century by both young men and women.

There must be reasons for this.

Really like the picture though Japan and China look like girls(but that may be because I don't know much about their clothing history). I used to write Fanfictions about Hetalia Korea and history, I placed Gaya and Baekje as two sisters that were later killed, though for some reason I didn't kill Tamna(Jeju) when she was conquered.

azure-meipo In reply to Parhe [2011-06-10 18:17:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh it would be great! I want to read your fanfics
Japan and China's clothing and hair style were all painted with the reference of actual ancient male style. Maybe I drew their facial expressions too girlishly.
