Pokedex entry: A wraith that follows the moon to spawning grounds. They spend some of their time lurking in the depths of the seas to breed then return to the night air to hunt. Exposure to an energy source allowed this creature to ascend to the starry skies where it hunts anything it comes across. It swoops down from the night sky with all the force of a storm in its wings to stun its prey. With its many eyes, this creature has become impossible to sneak up on as at least a few eyes are open at all times. Towns that are known to be within the creature's range build walkways underground so people do not need to risk going outdoors at night where they might suddenly be dragged into the sky.

There are rumors of a variant with smooth wing edges, rather than ragged. It is thought that a Aloamferid raised from an egg will become a loyal guardian Pokémon with shining wings.

Evolution Line: Evolves to second stage with 30 levels and to the third stage with a Dawn Stone and 45 levels.
