You bought something for the special one? Gifts? Sounds like you've got truckload of presents.
I think Mr. Steve's confidence is one of his best/worst traits. It's kind of annoying but at the same time, funny.
Watch out for the flying arrows.

I won't laugh.
Traditional ways are still pretty effective.
Which romance anime are you going to watch? I'm pretty much into watching romance series most of the time.

I saw Ai yori Aoshi and Video Girl Ai before but I don't think I actually finished Video Girl Ai series.
Do you like watching romance series or more towards action?

Thaylien In reply to AzureRat [2008-02-15 20:55:23 +0000 UTC]
For my anime... well as long as it's well drawn and has a story to it, I don't mind what I watch. Some things, like Wedding Peach for example, annoy the heck out of me because they don't seem to have a reason behind them, and I don't tend to watch something if I can see that it's a competitor that arose to build off another successful series.
I'll watch a lot; for example I spent a few days watching Divergence Eve the week before last, I've got Kino's Journey on the shelf for next up and I'm currently on Last Exile. I've got most of the Miyazaki collection and all-in-all I'm the proud owner of around 200 disks worth of anime (Not including the bonus content disks that come with box-sets).
Compared to that, however, my manga collection is slim. If something's an anime, I'll watch it, but if it's not I'll read it... But then I know that I won't watch it even if it comes out as an anime, because they'll change things that I'd rather they didn't in the same way that books can't translate to movies and movies can't translate to games.
So to answer your question; no, I'm not picky. I've got Ah! My Goddess through Fist of the North Star, DNA2 to Elfen Lied, Hand Maid May to Evangelion and even Pretear to Ghost in the Shell.

Do you watch Japanese dub or English? Seems you collected a lot of anime in your shelf.
Most I have are manga, anime I usually just watch them online or borrow from friends. Some good series I'll just go ahead and get them myself.

Thaylien In reply to AzureRat [2008-02-16 10:20:15 +0000 UTC]
It really all depends. If, like Ghost in the Shell or Miyazaki, they've put the time in to dub it into English properly then I'll watch the English dub. However if, like Negima or Pretear, they *haven't* then I prefer to watch the original Japanese with subs. Some things literally don't translate well, like Haruhi, so I don't even try to find a dubbed version, and the older ones like DNA2 aren't... well they were too early to really be translated to the best of the writer's abilities.
All in all, though, I try each version to see what works better.
Oh, and don't get me started on what I watch online... there's too much going on ^^ Not to mention my *weekly* fix of Bleach and Naruto Shippuden.

Lately the anime I watch are Clannad, Minami-Ke, Spice and Wolf, Gintama and Rosario & Vampire. I usually keep myself up to date so I don't miss any episodes. I think these are worth watching but that's just my opinion.
I saw Ghost in the Shell but wasn't really into the series, Haruhi was great in Japanese, personally I'd prefer Japanese dubs so I avoid listening to the english ones. DNA2 I have the box set and I think we are talking about the same anime.
Pretty much gave up on Bleach and Naruto since I don't really find them interesting to me anymore. Negima I still read the manga but not so much on the anime. My friends want me to watch Over Drive but I don't really know if I'll like it or not until I watch it.

DNA2; Guy with Girl Phobia, a beautiful bungling time traveller, Mega Playboy... so the story goes ^^
Personally I think there's a really good series that goes under-rated; El Hazard. The Magnificent World OAVs, that is, not the The Wanderers television series (I haven't seen that one, so I don't know what it's like). And if you're in the mood Fruits Basket works. Sure, Ghost in the Shell isn't everybody's thing, but since I first watched Stand Alone Complex, I was hooked on the series and even went to buy the rest of the series and the second movie (haven't got the third yet, but I've watched it).
My all-time has to be Ah! My goddess, from the beginning through to the current resurgence by means of a TV series. That thing started my fan-fiction writing career and inspired my best known characters Thaylien and Ireyah. However I take a lot of joy in watching the madness that is (wait for it) Full Metal Panic. I've got everything released for FMP in anime terms, and I think it's both hilarious and actually a damn good high-school romance/comedy even while mixed in with the big mecha. The spin-off FUMOFFU takes out the big mecha, adds to the comedy, but keeps a little bit of the romance, just in case, so if you haven't watch the thing yet, do so.
And if you want to be disturbed, try Elfen Lied, it's actually very good. Movie-wise, stick to the Studio Ghibli stuff, it's utterly brilliant, especially the new Tales from Earthsea. If you want a full list of my collection, just ask ^^ I like to show it off sometimes. (Can you tell? )
Anyway, I've got to wrap things up, I've got a rather silly commission thing to do...

Yeah I know DNA2 then. I like the story it's pretty interesting, not so much about the ending though.
I saw Fruits Basket too though it's a bit too mild for me.
Most series I tend to go with character designs first before actually watching the story. Story like Utawarerumono I haven't watch it but I love the characters. .Hack I pretty much go with the characters too and story second.
If you're talking about disturbing series I'll recommend School Days. The characters are the best and probably the only reason that made me watch the series but you'll be really disturbed by the storyline.
