This was for a creative writing project!
This is when Shikoba goes to tell Ahote that he's been accepted into college but Ahote is blackout drunk when he sees him and begins to beat him savagely to the point where Shikoba is barely clinging to life. Shote pulls a gun out him, saying at least he'll be useful dead (hence the title) and Shikoba smiles sadly up at him accepting his fate.

I might post the rest of the story along with it but it's pretty long soooooo I don't know if you should count on it.
