Description i think this is ther first time this year , i submit a digital painting, the sketch of it, you can see here [link]

i think i have spend about 60 hours or even more on this one, and still i'm not happy with the result, the face isn't right, the perspective of the background seems not the be very good, the window drove me nuts, the lady in the painting had to look like an old painting, which i didn't succeed very well
i used a reference for the dress from the book ' la mode illustree 1874-1875", to sketch it.
I'm not happy with it, but because i spend so long on it, i'm kinde of bored with it

This is amazing, there is only 2 things i wonder:

1.If that's a window to right or another picture?.if it's a window the outside looks like a copy a paste background
2.Her breast is sort of unfinished.

but other than that, well done!!

thank you the window is indeed not really finished, its made with the selectiontool and drop and cut out shadows, but i don't seem to have a texture of wood that would fit better, i also don't know how to make a good, euh, things were you can put plants or other decorationstuff on it, i seem to mess up the perspective on that. and it has no shadows for the moment , thats why it looks cut and pasted i guess. the wood behind the window is a background of a forest i started to paint but never finished because i 'm not really crazy about painting leaves have a lot of those on my pc , unfinished backgrounds:s
making a room was kinde of a challenge for me i never painted a room on my pc, and i wanted to try it out maybe when i have learned a few new things , i can do a better window
her breast look a bit odd because i painted the hair a bit over it, now it looks indeed like the breast are more like a couple balloons then real breasts lol.
think its one of the problems of not using a reference, there is always something that doesn't look good

A reference always helps, don't get me wrong this is a very well done painting!!
I have one problem when I paint too, I dont have a tablet!!! haha

thats true that a reference always help i'm just my own worse critic
a tablet is indeed a very helpfull tool to paint, i bless the day that i bought one , and i can't miss it anymore

Its beautiful hon, I think its the view from the window that throws the perspective out perhaps... on the other hand the dress is excellent!!

thank you, sweety it could be that the view of the window isn't so right,
i think you would love that book it has several patterns in it to make capes, hats, and children dresses , lace patterns etc in it

That dress is gorgeous, I can't really give any critique or pointers as I can't draw a straight line even with a ruler lol.
