I am putting this in the 14th place in my notebook, seeing as I had a free space, there.

So. (warning for neglect and mentions of domestic abuse...yeah)
Iris West is dead.
She died in a car crash when she and Barry had been dating. Barry copes.

He's a forensic scientist in CCPD.
One night he finishes his work late, and on his way out bumps into his friend (a cop) , who's just about to head home. So she offers him a ride.
While they drive, his friend gets a call about some kid sitting alone in the middle of the night, so they get off course to check it out.
They find a starved, exhausted, pretty much unresponsive, scared child.
He's mumbling something about how his daddy told him to 'wait right here. he will be right back and we will be a happy family again. he promised he will be right back'
so the cop asks when did his dad left him. And the boy- Wally he said- says he left him here on his birthday (7th) and said there was going to be a present if he's a good boy. so he was a good boy and waited. For a week and a half.
Drinking water from the drainpipe and eating whatever people dropped while walking by.
The cop and Barry immediately take him to a hospital, while Wally panics.
He clings to Barry and refuses to leave his side. So Barry has to bear with it and just hold his hand or always be in Wally's sight when he's being checked by the doctor.
He's even thinner without his jacket. He gets a bath, some food, his bruises get taken care of and a semi comfy bed, and he is detached from everything through all this, his only concern being if Barry haven't left him.
Barry eventually does. After Wally falls asleep, and goes back home. Doctors and nurses will take good care of him. He was sure of it.

It won't hurt if he checked up on him, right? Just to be sure he's adjusting fine.
So. it turns out Wally is heart broken. he doesn't want to eat or sleep.
He just sits in his bed and stares at his hands, pretty much like he did while waiting on the streets.
And when Barry walks through the door, boy is so relieved and is actually crying and apologizing for what ever he did 'I am so sorry Mr Barry! Whatever I did wrong just tell me and I won't do it again! Just don't leave me '
So Barry stays and hugs him and calms him down and manages to convince him to eat (very little, but still something) and finally fall asleep holding his hand.
And Barry leaves again.
He makes sure to visit him regulary though. And Wally adjusts. And gets better.
It takes months. With Barry balancing his work, being the Flash and spending time with Wally.
He eventually fosters him.
He needs Wally and Wally needs him. So they are perfect for eatch other.
At some point Wally starts calling him 'dad'.
And he grows.

Now, Wally is a happy kid. Cheerfull and loves to help others.
What he hates, is waiting. When he gets his powers, it's even worse.
When he needs to wait till the end of the class.
When he has to wait on missions. he always complains. And of course he always gets comments about how impatient he is.
But the absolute worse is, when he has to actually wait for someone.
Meeting up with Rob or Roy or even Barry. He always sends a text an hour before the meeting, making sure the person he's supposed to meet remembers about him. He makes sure it sounds casual though.
And you know how it is, when all your friends and you adoptive dad are super heroes. They are always late.
So Wally waits.
In restaurants, in front of his school, in Mount Justice, at the cinema.
And he never complains. He just sits and waits. He is always on time. he makes sure of that. Because there is nothing worse for him, than making another person wait.
Sometimes he waits even for 6-8 hours before going home.
After a while he just starts to bring books and homework to him meeting with Rob. So he has everything done by the time his friend finally shows up, or cancels.

...yeah. It's just an AU where Wally has to wait all the time.
And Wally hates waiting.
