021 The Flash?

That’s the most abstract AU one could ever imagine! wow!

Superboy shakily stood up, pushing the rubble off him, before making sure that Robin and Aqualad were alright and were able to stand as well.
His solar suit was completely torn and he thought that sadness -at having his only posession destroyed- was one of the first strong emotions he felt in his short life, apart from anger.
But then he looked up. And there it was.
Moon.
Robin mumbled something about keeping promises, but Superboy was too busy looking at the night sky in awe.
Then a little spot appeared. He squinted his eyes to see better.
Superman.
He was going to meet Superman.
The whole League arrived, and he could see Robin wince in the corner of his vision.
They all stood there before them, powerful and proud.
Like they were better.
Like him and his friends were worse.
He looked only at Superman.
His father.
Superboy carefully showed the crest on his suit.
He saw Superman’s surprized look, before the man turned away from him.

The third emotion, after anger and sadness came - hurt.
Superboy suddenly felt a black hole right where his heart was supposed to be and his throat actually closed up.
And he knew that this feeling should not be there, because there was no possible way for a black hole to be created inside his own ribcage.
Why did it hurt so bad, then?!
He closed his hands into fists and looked at the ground.
Anger. This he could deal with.
And then, a red blur zipped in between the older heroes, ran down into the crater that Robin, Aqualad and him were standing in, and stopped right in front of them.
The Flash.
Something felt off to Superboy. In the informations given to him by the genomorphs, there were two different pictures of Flash.
He didn’t know why did the hero go through the costume change, but before he could ask, the man was right in his face, smiling, and running a few quick circles around them.
He heard Robin mutter 'We’re fine dude.’ and Flash finally stopped right by him, putting his arm around him.
He saw how it was supposed to look friendly but at the same time, Robin could lean on the scarlet clad hero and take the pressure off his broken ankle.
"I know you’re fine! I was checking if you guys got me any cool souvenirs!" He said, loud enough for the heroes closest to him to hear. Superboy saw Aquaman shoulders relax a little.
He sounded nonchalant so it didn’t look like he was checking them for injuries, but at the same time, managed to reassure the League that they were indeed not hurt too much.
Superboy observed, because that’s what he was taught to do. He could notice every slight detail, even if he didn’t quite know what to do with these informations yet.
"Oh! By the way! Hi! I’m Flash!" There was a hand in front of him now, and Flash’s smile was even wider than before.
Superboy carefully took the hand in his own and shook it.
"Flash, meet Superboy." Introduced Robin proudly.
"It’s great to meet you Supes!" And Superboy’s mouth twitched up a little. People were actually treating him like a human here.
"Is that what I think it is?" He heard suddenly and when he looked up, he met the gaze of Batman himself.
His brows furrowed but before he could say anything, the Flash spoke up in his defence.
"I don’t think he appreciates being called an 'it’, Bats." he says bemused.
"I’m Superman’s clone" Superboy says finally. Batman's eyes narrow.
"Start talking."

They told the League everything, and then most of the heroes actually decided to return to their homes.
That left one Superboy, standing off to the side.
"We will put you in a room at the Watchtower-" Batman started before he got interupted.
"What? Nononononono! He’s staying with me, actually." The Flash was suddenly there - quick as always - and actually put his hand on Superboy’s shoulder.
"We did not discuss this." And Flash actually raised an unimpressed eyebrow at Batman.
/The/ Batman.
And Batman acutally let Flash take Superboy home.
Before that happened though, Flash excused himself and ran over to the Superman.
He talked to the man softly, but his expression was firm. At the end he just patted the most powerfull man on earth, on the arm, before going back to Superboy.
And he took him home.

Superboy met the man behind the mask. Wally West.
Wally showed him his small apartament in Central City, gave him clothes, a bed (well. his own bed, Wally slept on the coach), taught him how to do basic things, like turning on the shower without breaking it, or writing without destroying the pen, and he also introduced him to food.
"This is my Aunt Iris’s famous lasagne! Let me just heat it up for you and you’ll know what heaven feels like!"
Wally talked about his Aunt and Uncle a lot.
"Uncle Barry was The Flash before me actually." He told him seriously.
"Me and him were a team you know? When I was twelve I became his sidekick and we helped people together."
Turns out the previous Flash died saving the world when Wally was 17. And Wally took up the mantle after him.
And Wally taught Superboy everything that Barry taught him before.
They even went on patrols together, and Superboy could now safely rescue cats from trees, and put out fires, and help people cross the street, all the while learning to be gentle.
And the redhead actually talked to Superboy about Superman.
"The fact that he is your biological parent doesn’t necessarily make him your family.
I am sure he will open up in the end, but it may not be the way you want him to. Just be patient, and for the time being, spend time with your real family."
And then Wally actually became Superboy’s older brother.
And Aqualad and Robin came over for the night.
"It’s not a sleepover" Robin complained, sitting on the coach in his pajamas (and his glassess) eating popcorn.
"…It’s totally a sleepover, dude." Wally answered as he sat down between Robin and Superboy, stealing Robin’s bowl of popcorn and putting it in is lap.
They watched movies together and they laughed and Superboy thought he might be happy in his new family.
They formed a team a few days later, Aqualad, Robin and him.
And they met M'gann and Superboy got his earth name.
He became Conner West.
