yes, i do think you ripped off this guy because you've used the same style of characters, the same looping story idea as their "I love death" animation, and so on and so on

the character.. i dont know where he got the idea for it, but you clearly got yours from his work
i did look at the story and concept, and its along the same sort of lines as "i love death"

sorry man but I did not have his wonderfull animation in mind, believe it or not. I had the motto of the designer republic in my mind, buy,consume adn die, now this is a visualised version of this.
