WOW! looking at this picture puts me to shame. I'm no where near that advanced in photoshop. Everything looks so realistic and the eyes are beautiful. I have to favorite this. I love the use of colors and Tyra Banks is one of my favorite models. She's inspirational to Teens such as myself. Let me add that this pic should have more faves, this is just too tooo good. I need some advice on how to get to your level in photoshop.
Keep up the good work.

thanks...i wasnt trying to do the wood look and i personally like brown skin better than white skin. look at vexels.net u will see tons of vexels with "wood looking" skin lol but that seems to be the way they like it cos it shows the true vector layers
belive me i would rather have smoothed it out and blended it but then its not true vector form if i do that lol but thanks for the comment

actually it can be, Have you ever heard of a gradient mesh? look at [link] he has photography AND smooth skin tones using vector art like you seem to want.

yes ive heard of gradient mesh i dont belive it is true vector form because it has no true shapes. im not really worried about it tho because i did this as a vexel (see vexels.net what is a vexel) and g-meshs arent allowed. shapes of blocks of colours and shapes of gradients are but not a mesh

Oh i didnt know you were bound by any rules, lol Well i consiter anything made by illustrator that uses paths and that can be transformed effectivly to be a true vector while i consiter a vexel to not be a true vector. But i get where your comin from lol.

im not really bound by rules im just saying my opinion because i was first introduced to "vector" art as vexels through vexels.net
i agree with u on illustrator and the paths being true vector so i guess g-meshs are true vector but they arent vexel

i dont consider vexel as true vector form anyway because they are a mixture of vector and pixel because of the rasterized program photoshop, where as illustrator is true vector shapes. If there was a category for vexel this would go under it maybe i shouldnt have put it under vector artwork but theres no other category except digital painting that comes close

but yeah anyway thanks for the comments i certainly get where ur coming from too. i dont mean to sound biased about vexels lol

I love this picture! But.. something always confuses me.. what is "vector art" ?

thanks
its basically lines that are smooth and continuos with no pixellated edges...basically not a raster which is pixelled so its a vector. a vexel is a cross between a vector (smooth blocks of colour to make a picture) and pixels.
its hard to explain properly but basically you use the pen-tool in photoshop or a program such as flash or illustrator are natural vector based programs
you dont use the brush tool or smudge its just blocks and shapes of colours overlayed to create depth ........
ahhh i suck at explaining
sorry if i made u more confused
