I have a headcannon that Katie is in charge of assisting in trainer recruitment/registration, and Whinnie(is there an h there or no h? There's multiple spellings--) ends up in Mcminn for one reason or another and decides to transfer her registration to Mcminn's system since she's there and that's how they meet maybe-- WE STILL NEED TO RP THEM SOMETIME ILL SEND U A NOTE

Also I imagine that she's the reason Katie and Malek end up dating or smth like
What if she's constantly all "kiss;; the gorl already pls" and Malek is just "oh but we're not like that we're just friends she doesn't even like me-" and Whinnie just ends up giving up trying to persuade him and does shit like bumping them into each other and writing fake notes and putting them in their gym lockers-
