Planes are usually acceptable. I HATE HELICOPTERS!!!! wait till you have to hear them hovering past your work everday. In fact, im outlawing helis...

outlawing helis?

no no not really. Helis get to me! the problem with them is theyre basicly on full power all the time. theyre loud, they blow your paperwork everywhere, they put dirt and dust all over the place!

AWESOME!!! Wow!! I love the details, the light and shading--I guess I never realized how angled the engine intakes are (it's very visible from this perspective); perfect "dip" of the wing, and keeping the rest of the craft aligned (gear, wings, tail), and I personally really like your pencil technique! I have some pen-and-ink pieces of different aircraft that have this sort of texturing, and have always liked the effect. Terrific piece--just out of curiosity: do you (or did you) fly this machine...?

Thanks FF! Its a beatiful shape and an amazing plane. You know what it comes from? Model building. Ive built so many kits of these its like i know every speck of them! Plus its my favourite plane and whether its a kit or an artwork it always just falls into place know what i mean?
I used to love drawing in pen and still do... i think i have automaticly tranferred the technique to pencil.

I can't imagine a drawing of such a complex machine just "falling into place!" It seems like it would take a tremendous amount of time and effort--which makes the piece all the more impressive! Gorgeous work!

From a distance it looks fantastic, up close it looks like a drawing. Need to use blending sticks and tissues I think, then it would be perfect.

i know what u mean... but ive kind of adopted this style because i used to draw with blending the stokes years ago but i was spending way too long on one project know what i mean... thanks for the feedback though, your artwork is very good as well.

blending sticks??? whats that?

It takes patience, sometimes I spend months on my work - and it still doesn't turn out well. I see thats your style and I'm not gonna say its bad but I am saying that it doesn't look realistic.

Blending sticks are small wooden sticks that blend shading, so it doesnt look like it was drawn with a pencil. The tip basically collects the excess graphite leaving a smooth shading blend that looks realistic.

next time i am in the art shop ill get one to try. You are right, with quality you sacrifice time.
i know what you mean about realism but sometimes it doesnt have to be? point taken though, and i do like youre style...
cheers dude.
