I miss your comments as well, but now I'm glad you've got more time to do so. Hooray for these pink comments!
(Now all that dA needs to do is implement installable comment skins for PM users. Wouldn't that be great? )
This coloring style of mine is still rather new, but taking an art class (even if it was a beginner's) helped me shape the shading easily. I wish I could show you how I do it...but the thing is, I don't use bases. There are no marks I make when drawing...I just kinda do it. As for the male figure, I can tell you they've got a blockier, rectangle-like figure (chest-wise), and thicker arms and legs, along with broad shoulders. 
I don't do anything to keep the figure straight, I just make sure the paper I'm using isn't crooked ('cause I have that tendency to do so ). If it helps, try drawing the bases' shapes before drawing the actual person. 

Cool, a pink frog. I can imagine the look on Wolfie's face when he runs home and tells everyone he's hugged a pink frog.

Ah, regents sucked. I legit cried when I opened it, thanks to anxiety. I have to stop living in New York but that's not gonna happen :'D

I am, too! Pink comments are pink and fun, no? (And YES I've been wishing for that ever since I got premium membership. If they can change the word "messages" to "notifications" in our inboxes, why not include useful cool features that people will love? I'd be in love with that )
