Description
Born from the black blood of devils and animated by tattered souls snatched from the underworld, Ogres are the cursed children of the great Demiurges. Once, many ages past, the Ogres marched in legions for their dark lords in a campaign of domination across the land, but such glorious horrors are now a distant memory. Today, their half-mad descendents prey upon mankind like wild animals, driven by shattered memories and an insatiable hunger for the flesh of mortals. The few members of their kind that still retain any sense of decency at all now congregate in guilds and warbands, desperately clutching to the last, guttering embers of their cultural heritage in a world that no longer wants nor tolerates such romantic notions as monsters under the bed.

Though I've toyed with the notion of utilizing Orcs in Armadus in the past, I've never really been able to conceptualize them in a way that didn't seem like it was just ripping off of Tolkien; in my mind, Orcs are and will forever be innately of his design. As such, I filled the gap with the less appreciated Ogres, folklore's cannibalistic beast-men. Most of their fictional backstory is inspired by Gnostic conceptions of demonology.
