Description This is the inner cd-tray I designed for Our Lady Peace's Spiritual Machine's album a few years ago. Though there was a whole fold out and lots more imagery with it this is my favourite image from it. Hopefully I don't get scolded for posting it but it is completely by me and I wanted to share it as it represents a solid moment and style in my art background 2000-2001.

And I think this piece expresses so much, in a rather psychedelic way, about evolution, technology, mankind, information, wonder - all sorts of good stuff. I was also coincidentally obsessed with Ray Kurzweil's Spiritual Machine's book at the time, so them making an album and getting to do all this art and a video inspired by it was wicked.
As a side note if you are into Kurzweil's ideas and writings about where mankind is heading, read his newer 'the Singularity is Near' - it will inspire and boggle you with how far out there his predictions have become and what mankind is becoming. A worthwhile read.

As a note to anyone concerned I am posting this purely as personal promotion.
The work is not available or on offer for resale in any form whatsoever.

The Singularity is Near has to be the best book I've ever read, and I've been obsessed with it to this day (I have yet to read The Age of Spiritual Machines). The fact that an amazing Canadian band wrote an album about the book is just mindblowing.

Though I have yet to actually find the album anywhere, what I've heard of it is amazing. Your visual art style is also very unique. This piece has so much to consider in it! I'm anticipating buying Spiritual Machines as much for your art as I am for the music!

This is one of my favorite album artwork ever. I remember back when the album was out, I was beginning my art studies. It had a profound effect on me. The colors, the cut-outs and the over-abundance of text/symbols are very representative of today's infomercialization... Thanks for sharing!

you know, I saw this and thought 'hey, who took credit for Our Lady Peace's art?' heh, so glad I checked it out though.
I love that album, and Our Lady Peace is a great band. I really liked the art of the album! you designed all that? it has such a collection of stuff to look at and...absorb. Whenever I looked through the fold thing I always found something new I hadn't noticed before.
