When I saw this picture the element that grabbed my immediate attention was the reflection - the mirror calm of the water and the symmetry of the picture. It's also an example of a wide angle rule of thumb - that the photographer keep something---in this case, a tree trunk---in the foreground of the picture for the viewer to look at, to complement the scene. The concept is great.
The foreground was a little dark though; adjusting the exposure in-camera, or a little post production work, would bring its brightness up just a little bit. If the opportunity arises, try shooting this at dusk or dawn.
