NEW REF: Ryan Reference (August 2019)

My main man, Ry needed an updated ref because the art was kinda old
so here he is! Not really any changes besides just the art being better lol note that his muzzle is narrower and longer

Name: Ryan Lovegate

Nickname(s): Ry (Thyme's nickname for him, she's the only one who he lets use it)

Gender: Male

Age: Teen/Juvenile (About 15 in human years)

Species: Peryton (This is a species of mine)

Breed: Hummingbird/Dove Avian Whitetail

Size: About the size of a normal deer, a bit smaller. 3 1/2 feet high (excluding antlers), 5 1/2 feet long (excluding tail)

Distinguishing Features:
- Smaller, fluffy wings
- Long, pointed tail feathers
- Two long tail feathers with spade-shaped tips
- Bright purple and blue eyes
- Narrow muzzle
- Rectangular shaped eyes
- Small hooves and skinny legs
- Birthmark on inside of front, right leg
- Piebald coat
- Back, right hoof is darker than the other three

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Personality: Ryan is an overall nice guy. He is kind enough to those around him, but it takes him a bit longer than most in order to trust new people. He will approach social situations with caution and act as hidden as he can. He tries to act cool and calm to those around him, but he is actually very anxious and worried. He worries about those he cares about to a level where he cannot think about anything else. He is also self-conscious about his appearance at times. Despite his prickly exterior, he is kind and caring towards those he cares about and will go to great lengths to protect and care for his loved ones. But he does tend to argue a lot with others.

Flaws/Faults:
- His worrisome nature can often lead him to hesitate before he acts, at times, putting others in danger. This worrisome nature can also lead him to focusing on only one thing, putting all his energy into it, to a point of actually putting his health at risk. He will become obsessed with worry over one thing.
- A shorter temper and hesitant personality can make a small problem blow to a huge one.

POWERS REF: (BEING REDONE)
Powers: Whenever Ryan uses his powers, his pupil will gain a pink iris around it. Only when he is at maximum power level will he also gain, in addition to the pink, a golden iris.
- Ryan has the ability to summon and control his own pink fire. This fire acts like any other fire, but he can throw it like a weapon and can also summon it on his wings and tail feathers, swishing them in a great whirlwind of flame. Although this fire does burn, it is a weaker power type, not able to melt any sort of metal, but can singe, burn, and even melt skin if exposed for an extended period of time. Using this flame power does exhaust him and he does need to rest after he uses it for a while. If the fire is summoned on the ground, it would continue to have it's bright pink hue and will not become orange/red like normal fire. Ryan's flame is also relatively cool compared to normal fire.
- His only other power is instinctively knowing when other people are in love. This power is developed later as Ryan is older. He does have it in his early teen years, but he does not recognize it yet, due to his worrisome and slightly oblivious nature.

If you are wondering where his background/backstory is, that is because he has his own series (animated and drawn by me, on Youtube) and to explain too much, would cause some major spoilers! So I will give a very brief backstory for him

Backstory (Shortened):
Ryan was adopted and raised by a herd of peryton in the Western Forest. He was found, as a fawn, at the age of one month, and was taken in by the herd. He is a rare part of a breed of peryton, the hummingbird peryton, which had long been declared as extinct. He grew up with few friends and allies, until he became best friends with another peryton (a stellar jay peryton), Thyme. They became very, very good friends and Thyme always stayed by his side.
