Description

After so much physical training, Toshinori now had little difficulty keeping up with Bumu as the Yanmega zoomed and zipped around corners and through alleyways. The only real hazard was when Bumu flew over a busy street, forgetting that the human following him was on the ground and not in the air like he was. He paused a moment and tilted his head back to wait for him to catch up again before continuing to lead him through the city.

   Toshinori felt both excited and worried about trying to catch this supposed menace Pokemon. From what he heard, the little terror was abnormally powerful and aggressive. By why aggressive? Pikachu were not known to be that way. Was this really a good idea? The police and their Pokemon had it out for this little guy. Before he could finish debating on his impulsive decision, Bumu had stopped suddenly at the entrance to a particularly dirty and gray alleyway.

   He looked around, a bit concerned. This was the shady part of town where the many abandoned buildings seemed to keep the area in constant darkness. He noticed a pair of people who were chatting across the street stop and eye him suspiciously before lowering their voices.

   "Yan," Bumu buzzed and began to hover into the alley.

   "In there?" Toshinori didn't move. Then again, what did he expect?

   "Yanma!"

   "Right," he followed slowly. "Be careful Bumu. This Pikachu is supposed to be really strong. If you get hurt, Gran Torino will kill me."

   "Bzzya..."

   As they neared the end of the alleyway, they noticed a yellow figure sitting against the tall wooden fence that marked the end. The scruffy little Pikachu had the link of sausages that it had stolen earlier, but instead of eating, it was giving them to a small Poochyena who's back leg appeared injured.

   "Poochy?" the Poochyena looked curiously over at the intruders.

   "Pi?" Pikachu glanced back at them and immediately turned to face them with a battle-ready stance and a harsh glare. "Pika!"

   Toshinori took a small step back and held up his hands. "Whoa, hold on."

   "Piiiii!" Little sparks trickled from his red cheeks.

   "Yan!" Bumu flew between them.

   The Poochyena hurried behind a nearby dumpster and poked its head out to watch. Pikachu sent a bolt of lightning straight at them. Bumu knocked Toshinori aside and dodged the attack. "Yaan!"

   Toshinori panicked for a second. Bumu was waiting for directions. The Yanmega was fully capable of acting on his own, but Pokemon tended to do better when given commands. "Um, I-- Sonicboom!" Bumu beat his wings hard, sending a powerful shockwave straight at the Pikachu. "Bite!" The Yanmega flew forward, his fangs glowing with the attack, and bit down hard on the Pikachu's back.

   "Pika!" He let loose a Discharge that caused Bumu to drop him, but the Yanmega automatically retaliated by sending another Sonicboom, this time at a much closer range. Before the Pikachu could get back to his feet, Toshinori tossed an Ultraball that absorbed the little Pokemon inside. It shook violently and glowered a few times before sealing with a 'click.'

   He let out a long sigh of relief. "That wasn't so bad." He exchanged a look with Bumu as the Yanmega carried the ball over to him. "Yan-ya!" Toshinori stashed the ball away in his pocket and went over to where the Poochyena was watching. He crouched down and carefully held his hand out for it to sniff. "Sorry if we scared you. Let us take you to a hospital. They'll get you fixed up and you'll have a warm place to stay and some food. That's it."

   The Poochyena took a timid step out and allowed him to stroke its head.

   He carefully gathered up the Poochyena then looked over at Bumu hovering nearby. "You okay?"

   "Yaan!" he replied cheerfully.
