Beautiful colours - really does look like Spring/Summer! I'm missing it already as Winter is soon approaching here.

What exactly is the South African version of winter cold, I wonder.

It depends on where you live - it can vary quite a bit. It doesn't get nearly as cold here as in Europe. Snow is quite rare and we mostly only get it on the mountains. In some areas inland the temperature often goes below 0 degrees Celsius at night. Along the coast it doesn't get as cold with the minimum temperatures seldom going below 5 degrees. Day temperatures range from 15-20 degrees. How does that compare to your Winters?

Well, here in Crimea - Russia's most southwestern territory - we have mild winters. The all-time lowest temperature was -25, for a few hours on a January night of 2005. During the three winter months, the weather tends to be rather fickle, and the temperatures go up and down like a yo-yo. It's a few sunny days with +10/+15, followed by a few snowy days with -1/-5, followed by another few warm days etc. The water in the Black Sea near the south coastline of Crimea never goes below +9 or something like that.

What a cheerful sunny day~! It looks like it would be so pleasant to sit in those soft blue shadows with a pot of tea and spend the day reading~

I am sure it would. Then again, you'd be tempted to put the tea aside and go explore this incredibly beautiful city with lots lots of historic and archaeological monuments.
