hmm, maybe you're working on a canvas that's too big?? use a canvas that's about mmm... 70x70 for starters, then set the binary tool's size to 1. does that help?

you did pretty good, but you still need to shade in some places
in pixel art, to shade we use "dithering" which is basically making a little checkerboard pattern wtih the pixels.
and besides the outline, its good to not use black at all. use like either a dark blue/grey.
and try to use only a few colors, and colors that sort of.... flow into each other. (like green-blues to blue-green to blue-purple)
so... dithering, and color blending and that should be it.
