Thing is, the US Military is not loyal to the President or Congress but to the nation itself. If one tries an insurrection then they'll send said insurrection into oblivion.

That isn't the case, as that relies on the military's approval ratings with said president. Trump, for example, has done the impossible and effectively eliminated his approval ratings with the military since late last year.
