Galactic Fleet Memo
Subject: Naziortol Pack Fighter, Naziortol Command Pack Fighter
CLASSIFIED: EYES ONLY
ATTENTION ALL STARSHIP COMMANDERS
The Naziortol Pack Fighter is a common sight to anyone who has passed by the Naziortol System. The standard Naziortol Pack Fighter consists of a rectangular fuselage with an angular “bubble” cockpit. The weapons consist of four pulse energy discharge cannons set in gun ports on either side of the cockpit. The fighter is propelled by four particle ion engines set at the end of four wings arranged in an “X” formation. The Pack Fighter, like all Naziortol spacecraft has low level FTL drive, but lacks the range to take it beyond the edge of the Naziortol system. The Command Pack Fighter is nearly identical to the standard Pack Fighter, but is distinguished from the standard model by braces set between the engines on either side, and a chin mounted heavy rail cannon. Both models are equipped with a Naziortol Tactical Interface. This interface connects each individual fighter with all the other fighters in its squadron. The Command Pack Fighter's tactical interface allows the squadron leader to monitor the activities of his squadron and instantly issue commands to them. On the whole the tactical interfaces allow the fighters to function like one entity. This is also their greatest weakness. The tactical interfaces rely on a command/data signal fed to them from a central defense command station located in high polar obit of the Naziortol home world. The Pack Fighters' weapons have already proved inferior to most weapons and defense shields in common use in the galaxy. Barring an introduction of more conventional technology, the Naziortol Pack Fighters represent little threat. Starship commanders are advised to ignore any Naziortol Pack Fighters, and give the Naziortol System a wide berth.
