I start off drawing the image with Charcoal, then coat the image with matte medium to protect the drawing, then go back in and paint with acrylic the dark areas, come back in with white gesso, after coat the image again with another coat of matte medium, add an oil wash of dark blue + drying linseed oil in the areas you want and there you go!

very, very good process, what exactly "matte medium" is? is a secative or something to seal the drawing? because my lenguage is spanish, i don't understand clearly what media is.
