"The Bright Shield Rune (also known as Shining Shield Rune) is a defensive rune and one of the two fragments making up the Rune of Beginning.

As it is also a fragment of the Rune of Beginning, the Bright Shield Rune has a great attachment to the Black Sword Rune. The strands of destiny are weaved around the will of these two Runes. It is said that whoever bears these Runes will always face each other in combat, to continue the battle that created the World. Intriguingly, this has happened in both cases in which we know that the Runes were bore. However, if the hosts try to resist this conflict, they become weakened, as the Rune will punish the bearer for not following the Rune’s desired path. The host will suffer from fatigue at such moments, and, if delayed for too long, the host will die."
