What do you mean by worse? worse story wise, worse concept wise or worse blood wise?

I think you are analyzing it in a way that isn't doing this arguement justice. For one Elfen lied and Madoka Magika are two seperate stories that take two seperate directions.  While elfen lied a classic and holds dear in multiple hearts and my own there are multiple aspects wrong with it. fundaments that is base of biology is incredibly flawed and even though it is fantasy anyone with a basic concept of biology can see these flaws. Then goes into the question of are you implying the manga or the anime, the manga holds and entirely different storyline and ending where the anime ends at the death of Mariko. The manga continues well into Kouta being a father. The story is a cruel analysis of human nature and filled concepts of religious rebirth as well as genetic. The anime is filled with references to Gustav Klimt's works and holds that essence in his work through the animation I would rather compare a story like this to Evangelion, another story which is gory, based on concepts of religion and science and leaves multipe feelings to the viewer.  Madoka Magika is a magical girl story that dives into concepts of human despair and is filled with quota from the story Faust. what made this so popular is the sudden change of story from generic magical girl into a history making anime. The ending and entire story is filled with concepts of hope, selfless love as well deeper analysis of Female emotions, then explores the idea of the Eternal feminine. Though flawed in concepts of astronomy and the concept of entropy it based on is quiet twisted from its original intention. If you were to argue on this one argue one in the same genre and concepts such as Magical girl Lyrical Nanoha or princess tutu.

If you wish to argue on gore content Madoka magika isn't the best opponent, animes such as Higurashi no naku Koro ni or the original Corpse party would be a much better opponent.

now the only comment I made in this picture is the fact that both had an emotional toll on me and I hold both of them dear to my heart. Do both of them have anything in common? Pink hair that's about it. Is there much better animes and stories to compare each to? yes there is. Was this picture made during the hype of Madoka Magika? yes, yes it was. Have I done any Elfen Lied Fanart? Yes, yes I have I have even cosplayed Lucy and Mami from both series.
Whether or not you have a personal biff against Madoka magika I doubt seeing your gallery,  please comment with positive ideas and discussion on an artists work from now on Rather than leaving vague opinions on criteria that don't even coincide.

Okay, sorry about that. In hindsight, my comment was a bit much.

I don't really like Elfen Lied, but I do like Maho Shoujo Madoka Magica. I like Maho Shoujo for the cuteness and cuddliness and moe', and for the Big Kick-Butt Action-Packed Witch Boss Fights!


By the way, speaking of Magical Girls, I really wish people would recognize that other Magical Girl shows had that kind of stuff too.

Like did you know that in Sailor Moon, All of the Sailor Scouts died horribly at some point in it?
Even Princess Serenity actually committed suicide in it, because she was so depressed over the loss of her boyfriend, Prince Endymion.
