Description
I toyed around some more with this painting... added cat-like towers and a gate-like construction. I'm getting worried it's becoming too clutered and I'm using too much colours... but what do you think? Keep it like this or strip it down again?Related content

I love the idea of the cat towers, and the detail deviation that you just finished is lovely.
I like the variety of colors in the sky; it's a nice contrast to the more subtle color pallette on the cityscape. The only thing that I would suggest as far as the colors is that you might consider warming the city up slightly (more into the red and orange area). The yellow to blue section of the spectrum is very cold and doesn't seem to match with my idea of cats as a symbol of power, majesty, etc.

Oh, that ugly purple corner is history now, you can't see that in the close up yet. I let the spectrum go to mint-green now, more blue-ish works against the piece, you see that right.
As for more red and orange for the city... let's see... I have also a foreground which have to stand out, let's see what will work.

Keep the colors in the atmosphere and the green in teh background and make it stand out againste the city

Man, this is gorgeous. No, there's not too much color here; it still feels very unified and cool.
I can even pick out the people in the foreground (looks like the cover to a novel!)

i don't think it's too cluttered, but in terms of color i do think it'd be better without the purple coming from the top right - i totally adore just the greenish/yellow/orangey colors of the sky. really beautiful piece, even with the purple xD

yes... it's the purple that bothers me as well... it makes it go a bit too much rainbowy, which is a shame. Yeah, I think I'd like to work this one out, if it wasn't for the amount of schoolwork I need to do. =_=

I don't think it's too cluttered at all. The sky, while varied in color, is subtle and acts as a balancing space. There's plenty of sweeping colors to give it a very magnificent atmosphere, and the focal points draw the eye very elegantly. The gate-frame only adds to the majesty. All in all--a fantastic piece.

I like this better... Haze is good but a couple clearly seen things also is better.
