An educational science project...with a Bakermonium twist! The presenters are Khadijah (purple-eyed girl) [link] , and Johann (blond boy) [link] .

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to contribute to the artwork for this comic, because I had no access to a scanner all summer. And I still won't have access to any scanner for the rest of the year. So for this comic collab, a truly great friend I found, , did all of the artwork, while I wrote the story and planned out how the comic panels would look. Kenji is a FANTASTIC children's illustrator--I highly encourage everyone to check out his DA page whenever you can! I am so profoundly grateful and thankful that he agreed to help me out and illustrate this for me!

Eheheheheh...is the writing really in Comic Sans? I don't know if it is... ~Ryo-Ken is the one who chose the font for the writing, and I don't know what font he chose.

I thought that the 'brain' part was a delightful twist. I do think the comic as a whole would have benefitted from having fewer frames explaining the parts prior to the 'brain frame' because those were all so similar. I DO think it's a very cute story! Just needs a little shortening.

BTW, I enjoyed the fact that for once the kid with glasses ISN'T the smart one.

>>BTW, I enjoyed the fact that for once the kid with glasses ISN'T the smart one.<<

Oops, forgot to reply to this one. Hah-hah, yes, indeed. Actually, in the Bakermonium group, both the smartest (Chad) and dumbest (Johann) kids have glasses...so heh-heh, make what you will with that.

Hmmm, do you really think so? Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that. Well, I guess I wanted a lot of build-up to the brain surprise. I wanted this comic to be partially educational...so I put in a lot of detailed, true information about density into it. And I had to have a separate panel for each layer in the jar, to better explain what was happening with each layer. I guess I could have had the jar have just three layers instead of four...I guess that would have shortened the panels a little bit.

Thank you for your feedback!

Seppukumaru In reply to BakerChemi [2010-12-22 05:26:48 +0000 UTC]

Intending it to be an educational comic(that hadn't occurred to me XD), I guess it makes sense to have the long explanation. But you know, I'm used to seeing purely silly stuff from BKMN, so suddenly seeing a very long, drawn out explanation of an experiment just seemed kind of weird. I think cutting down the long explanation would help it fit in better with the other comics you've done so far.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BakerChemi In reply to Seppukumaru [2010-12-22 06:04:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, not completely educational. Just mostly educational, with a funny twist/pun at the end of it. That kind of humor still fits within the parameters of the humor style I want in Bakermonium. But I see what you're saying, though, I do understand what you mean. Thanks for your thoughtful feedback...it was very interesting.

LOL, don't you worry. I don't ever want to turn Bakermonium into some horrid, irritating preschool educational show or anything like that. Yes, just regular ol' wacky comedy and hijinks will always be the number one thing that drives the Bakermonium series!

Like I draw ur characters, you draw mine : D ?

I don't have a scanner anymore, so art trades are not possible for me. Sorry about that.
(A note: if you like this specific comic's art style, this comic was actually drawn by , not me. So if it's his art style that you really like, then you could ask him for an art trade.)

dexter's laboratory ftw? xD
i wish i could do that, i'd be able to stash LOADS of stuff in there with how "big" my brain is xD

BakerChemi In reply to nous3rnam3 [2010-08-27 17:05:50 +0000 UTC]

Heh-heh, yes, I love Dexter's Lab a lot! And yeah, I'm sure a literal "container" head could be very useful in many ways. Learning would be so much easier if you could just literally put textbooks in your head, for example.

One last thing, just so you know...the Johann head-opening thing, while very funny indeed, is not the actual main joke of the comic. Read my Artist's Comments again (I added a note on top) for more info.

nous3rnam3 In reply to BakerChemi [2010-08-27 17:18:29 +0000 UTC]

i'm pretty sure the actual joke is the "most dense" since some people use that word to describe someone who is stupid
