After being quickly pulled out of a Kindergarten, he ended up being a runt of the group. He didn't have enough time in the ground to come out like the other Quartz and therefore was considered defective. Though, due to needing more gems, they sent him to work anyways. Later on, Carnelian ends being abandoned over Yellow Diamond orders, and he thinks he was just left behind. After months of waiting, he finally retreats back into his gem just before the war happens. The war takes place and his gem ends up buried under rubble, which (somehow) saves him from becoming corrupt.

He encounters SAPPHIRE at some point, and he decides to form a pact with him.

CURRENTLY
SAPPHIRE, who, while having an emotional episode, ran away after accidentally poofing Carnelian and EMERALD.
Carnelian is currently hanging around GOLD ( CrystalStars350 ), due to his gem being found by him and Carnelian ended up reforming later on while GOLD had him.

Carnelian is very optimistic about things. He wants to find the good and happy in things so they don't have to worry about the bad. He's generally a silly and happy gem. Carnelian is also an affectionate gem and loves to show his affection towards other people. This can be through gifts, admiration, and hugs. He also can be sorta... stupid. He doesn't really know too much about things and usually needs to be informed on whats going on around him.
He cares deeply for those around him, and even to an extent those AGAINST him, and WILL make it known. He usually cares for a lot of people unless they've done something really wrong to those he considers close.

And, to be honest, to an extent his is gullible.

SAPPHIRE

He's genuinely interested in trying to be friendly with Sapphire and even tries to tell him jokes and shape shift into random animals they've encountered along their way. He's unsure if Sapphire is just bad at friendships or doesn't like him, but it won't stop him from trying and hugging him.

GOLD ( belongs to CrystalStars350 )

At first Carnelian was really confused over who the fuck this gem was because one moment he remembers reaching out to help Sapphire, then the next thing he knows he's been poofed and he reformed with an entirely different gem near him, with no sign of Sapphire. He's trying his best to keep the positive of it all, I mean, at least he didn't attempt to kill him! Haha, that's a plus, right?
Carnelian and Gold eventually fall in love, so you can put two and two together.

Carnelian is bisexual!

TRIVIA
He often likes to shape shift into small foxes!
Due to being apart of rushed Beta Kindergaten gems, Carnelian does not have many powers unique to his gem type. A downside, yes. But he doesn't mind much. That... and he isn't too aware.
As much as his boyfriend hates it when it happens around other gems/people, Carnelian loves to give him affection.
He doesn't know too much about humans. He's interested in them, and wants to learn more about them.
Even though he has yet to be introduced into human food, I personally think he'd be a fan of sour candies and small pastries.
