I watched part of a clip to confirm online before my laptop overheated and that was where one of the characters was from. Possibly a nod-of-the-hat...who knows! (the show takes place in Seattle but was filmed here in Vancouver, BC)

Forgive me...I was wrong. I think the colours in your image helped create that illusion...apparently the lake was one here in Vancouver, but it took place in Washington

(still love the photo).
