Description This piece is an interpretation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, depicting the novella’s antagonist Napoleon the Pig, The Windmill, and The Barn. In the Novella, The Windmill is a symbol of Russia’s quest for scientific prowess during the cold war, thus I choose to depict it bearing the Soviet Hammer and Sickle emblem. The Barn is a symbol of the power the farmers have over the animals, and it is often thought of as representing Socialist Germany. The swastika was used to exemplify this symbolic interpretation. I’m currently working on a series of 12 pieces depicting significant pieces of literature, ranging from works by Plato and Nietzsche to Kurt Vonnegut and Lewis Carol. Acrylic paint on canvas board.

bÄm! i like it. so disgusting. a little too much explanation... but without reading the text it's pretty nice. black spots are missing and stuff, what would it make easier to identify Napolen but it is very "ausdrucksstark" (german yay^^) "punchy?"
