Description As you can tell, I'm pretty tired and I loathe backgrounds. But this was fun to do. For the Big Four Contest.
I have seen a lot of these 4 around on tumblr so I thought it would be fun to draw them.

All characters belong to their respected films.

Here's a protip: you never hold a two-handed weapon with your hands that close together, as it gives you next to no force or control over it. When holding a sword, you will want to keep your hands as spread apart as your handle will allow. This means your main hand should be right by the crossguard, and your off hand should be right by the end, so far out that your little finger should be just off the handle. Main hand gives force and off hand gives control.Β

Staves and spears aren't too different; your hands should be around the middle, and about fifty centimeters apart. But then again, I've never fought using a magic staff, but I imagine it being somewhat similar to a Naginata or a Halberd in this case.Β

Stances are kinda off, but close enough to proper not to tick me off too much. Besides, like I said, I hardly know the technicalities of Jack's fighting style... Still, hands apart. Trust me; try holding a sword both ways and you'll notice the difference

My pet peeves aside, I must say I like this picture. It's very simplistic, in a good way. I can imagine drawing Merida's hair must have been hell, but if it was, i can assure you it was worth it. That particular part turned out perfectly, in my honest opinion. Actually, everyones' hair turned out awesomely, but Merida's stood out in particular. Good Β job!Β

I hope my little rant at the beginning didn't offend you. People holding their weapons wrong just kind of happens to be one of my greatest pet peeves... owo'

Yeah I'm afraid my cousin already beat you to the hand weapon rant but it's supposed to show that they are only learning and practising here and that they are only getting ready to spar. They're not supposed to be pros in this picture. I should probably mention that in the comments but I forgot.

Well, how to hold your weapon should by all means be the first thing you learn to avoid creating a habit out of the wrong way, but fair enough. Fiction is fiction and I should learn to keep my logic out of it
