One of the creatures mentioned in the previous upload .

Drawing it wasn’t really a part my plan initially – but after coming up with the image in my head, I decided that leaving it as just a footnote in another drawing’s description would be too much of a missed opportunity.

Apex predators of their layer, these nearly 3 meters tall creatures endlessly wander around and indiscriminately prey upon all living things they come across – although sometimes they can be seen sucking blood and filth that naturally seeps from the ground as well, if there is no living prey nearby. Unlike their relatives, they lack prominent mandibles, sporting a round, lamprey-like mouth instead, capable of sucking insides from their victims. Despite belonging to the whisperer category, these aberrations seldom speak, usually only vocalizing in deep, heavy huffs with only occasional muffled murmuring. They do, however, generate radio waves that – if received by radio – manifest as low-pitched, distorted voices.

On occasion, they were seen shedding their "masks", only to grow them back in a span of a few days. The "mask" would remain alive for some time – and if put on by a person, it would instantly bite into their face and suck their blood until they die. After that, it would envelop the body with the sheets of tissue, digest it and use the received biomass to regenerate into a complete creature.

And they can also exhale chlorine gas, because of course they can.
