-Both were left to die (with the difference that Robbie did die) but were given a chance by a supernatural entity (Terror Mask and Eli) to seek vengeance, their fusion resulting in both Rick and Robbie turning into a more monstrous version of themselves. Said entity also tries to manipulate them to achieve their own evil schemes, usually trying to make them succumb to their powers (Eli wanting Robbie to succumb to bloodlust and The Terror Mask wanting to use Rick to take vengeance upon the Corrupted for forcing it to suffer "the eternity of agony")

-In contrast, Robbie is still fighting off his uncle's influence to become a psychopathic killer and while rick started out horrified, he soon gave into Terror Mask's influence caused him to start enjoy killing, barely clinging to sanity as he tries to reach his main goal of saving Jennifer
