Description
Because instead of finishing my assignment I did a Sycamore.The dashing French professor.
If the grammar/phrasing is wrong with 'mon amie', please let me know. I don't speak French very well.

About the grammar :Β
If the person he's talking to is a girl, it's correct. If he's talking to a guy, "amie" becomes "ami". The pronunciation is the same though.

You just have to remember that French grammar doesn't really admit a neutral gender, and the gender of who or what you're talking about doesn't affect only the pronouns, but the way the noun and adjective is spelt as well. Except for adjectives and nouns that are invariable. When writing French you have to keep the gender of who you're talking to/about in mind. The fact we even give grammatical genders to objects doesn't really help foreigners learn our language. xD
Most of the time the only difference between the female and male version of a word is a "e" at the end (or lack of thereof in the male version), but of course there are exceptions. If the "e" of the female version is after aΒ consonant, it's pronounced ; if it's after aΒ vowelΒ it's not.

Yeah I remember learning about that when I had to take French in school. It was always so confusing, especially when you got into like a group of guys or girls.
I tried to learn Italian a few years ago and holy crap it was even harder to grasp D; will end up trying again with that though..
Anyways, yeah I remember that too but I'm not confident in my French to just guess, plus I don't want to accidentally use the wrong thing

Well, French being a more sexist language than you might imagine, when talking to or about a group of both guys and girls, the masculine form of words will always be used. Even if the group is made of 1000 women and 1 man. Which is pretty dumb if you ask me.
