Sunstorm, fur fluffed up against the piercing gusts of wind that wound through the dark forest, crawled through the undergrowth, paws barely denting the blanket of newly-fallen snow, intense golden gaze focused on his leader, Kindlestar, who led the patrol of fearsome cats through this unfamiliar (to him) territory. As they slowed and neared the outskirts of the MoonClan camp, the yougn warrior felt a perplexing mix of excitement, energy and anxiety course through him from nose to fluffy tail tip as he perked his ears and took in the scents and sounds of the dusky woodland. He tensed his legs in nervous excitement, then glanced aside to Beetleflight, who was positioned next to him, her with a seriousness he hadn't seen reflected in her gaze before, and he gave her an encouraging nod. They had been apprenticed together, trained together, made warriors together, and they would fight together.

"Attack!"

The silence of the forest was split with his leader's yowl and the chorus of battle cries that rang out all around him, turning the once-peaceful land into a storm of chaos.
The first wave of fluid cats stormed into the camp, Sunstorm among them, his eyes flashing with determination. He felt a piercing pain in his heart as memories of all they had lost -- Russetfur, Badgerpaw, Wildpaw and countless others streamed through his mind, and let out a ferocious yowl as he charged into the stunned Moonclanners. For a moment the world seemed to stand still, the reality of war hitting him, then sped up once more as he leapt forward to tackle a MoonClan warrior he hadn't recalled seeing before. He dug his claws into their scruff, then let out a surprised cry as a small form barrelled into him, sending him spinning off balance. The young tom rolled as he collided with the ground and leapt up upon doing so, turning to face his attacker, fur bristling with justice for his Clan. He hissed and slashed at the muddy brown tom, then heard a screech from Beetleflight as a lighter cat tumbled into her, temporarily jolting his attention from his attacker, who took advantage of this and leapt upon him, and the warrior yowled as claws met flesh, leaving a deep scratch on his flank and a wound on his cheek.

Sunstorm let out a hiss and whirled around to face Mudpaw, eyes narrowed with a frightening intensity, serious and determined, remembering all that his mentor had taught him. "You have to watch, Sunpaw. If you know what the opponent will do, you'll be able to prepare..."

He lingered a moment as he watched the apprentice tense his muscles and prepareD to spring, then at the last moment shot aside to dodge the tom's leap, and he heard the MoonClanner let out an irritated hiss. "Beetleflight!" He cried as he leapt through the ocean of cats in attempt to make out his friend's distinctive fur, dodging around Twopelt and Deathsong who were engaged in a fierce wrestling match, then spotted his friend tussling with a larger warrior, Thunderlight, who appeared to be overpowering her. With a yowl he leapt forward and rammed into the pale yellow tom, allowing Beetleflight a chance to recover...
