of adventure and exploration

a kind of life

felt like I truly
belonged in a world
so filled with
routine;
a mundane
sort of lifestyle
that I can never see
myself living. Being happy with.

I fear growing old
because I want to be
remembered for who I am
not who I was
long ago.
I fear exiting life
not truly as myself
but as a shadow of
what I once was.

That scares me
more than anyone
can ever know.

Perhaps someday
the characters who
I've dreamed about;
longed for in the depths
of my heart,
a hollow feeling when I wake
that is hard to quench,
will take me away
on a journey through the stars
