Description

Colossal Snail C )

Species: Helix colossi

Class: Beast

Habitat(s): Grasslands, Forests, Jungles, Beaches, Swamps

Diet: Herbivore

Colossal Snails, also known as Giant or Giga Snails, are one of the gentlest creatures known and are very approachable. They’re large as tall as two cows and are quite heavy creatures, most of the weight comes from the shell.

The shell of a Colossal Snail is sturdy enough to withstand most blade and bludgeoning weapons, because of this they don’t much to fear since they can just tuck into their shells if threatened. They also live long lifespans, up to 160-180 years possibly longer.

Colossal Snails can be kept as pets but are a handful to keep out of trouble, they will crush fences and obliterate crops if not being watched.

The trick about laying those eggs is that humans will haul them off to garbage dumps, where the newly hatched young will feast on thrown-away leftovers.

you are very lucky that I love SpongeBob and have seen that caveman episode in the older seasons... I see that you're making the connection of giant Gary with my Colossal snail, to that I say, good eye

There is actually a giant snail monster in French folklore, named the Carcohl (or "Lou Carcohl")

I know and I plan to draw it...you do know that they are described as reptilian snake-like with snail shells

DoctorChevlong In reply to BangBooDoragon [2019-07-03 13:38:28 +0000 UTC]

Even though I'm french myself, I've never read that it was reptilian-looking... I always read that it was a unique, invertebrate creature, with tentacles, that oozed a corrosive slime...

BangBooDoragon In reply to DoctorChevlong [2019-07-03 16:55:13 +0000 UTC]

Mmm could be some mistranslation on my part...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DoctorChevlong In reply to BangBooDoragon [2019-07-03 17:05:25 +0000 UTC]

Maybe ! He could be taken for some unusual-looking local "dragon", since some regions (or even cities !) of France have their own specific dragon. Maybe the misunderstanding comes from that feature
