This is really intense! You're right about it being scary, but it's very interesting too. I like the use of color and how you incorporated it into the design, and how creepy the eyes are. It's the texture and words that are really catching after that first glance though. It's hard to take it in all at once, but with each view I keep seeing more and more. So, yeah, awesome job. I hope your head's a little clearer now though.

Yes, I'm afraid it is very common, so it is good to make art primarily for ourselves; sharing it is also great when someone understands and/or shares our feeling or insight. This stands out in the book I'm currently reading: Lives of the Artists by Calvin Tomkins. You might enjoy this book about contemporary artists of all kinds...it's an entertaining and inspiring read.
